Humans can live under 120 years or more. In the early years of civilization around 3000 B.C., the average life span was 18 years. As per Hindu sages, Indian Vedic people lived with very long “Ayush“ (Life). By 1900, the life expectancy in United States was 47.5 years only, as where it was 80 years by 1998. Life expectancy in England and Wales varied around an average of 40 years during the two centuries prior to 1870, and in the subsequent 125 years it almost doubled. In 1910, the female life expectancy in Japan was 43 years and it was at 83 years by 1998. The life expectancy can be increased with the improvement in many health related factors.
How long we actually live depends on avoiding (or) surviving disease, accidents, violence and bad life style choices such as smoking, alcohol and eating too much etc., Incremental Life Span can be attained by retarding (or) delaying the process of ageing. Ageing is an intrinsic characteristic of all higher forms of life setting a finite limit to the potential life span even for those living under the best possible conditions. By ageing, we mean the gradual changes in structure and function which occurs with the passage of time, don’t result from diseases (or) trauma. On the other hand, ageing will be rapid in humans due to unhealthy life styles diseases, environmental etc.,
